Personal Background

Source: SpyderCall
Before I became a full-time proprietary trader, I was once a restaurant manager. As for my hobbies, when I have time, I am a huge foodie, video game enthusiast, and sports fan. of course, that is when I have time to enjoy my hobbies because I spend most of my time eyeballing the stock market and potential investments.
Investing: My key methods for investing involve trend analysis and technical analysis.

When and why did you start investing?
I started trading shortly after the financial crisis in 2008 when the stock market crashed. There were tons of stories in the news about investors making easy money after the crash. I wanted a little piece of the action myself. So that's when I began my investment journey.
What kind of trader are you?
I am a technical trader. Most of my investment decisions whether short-term or long-term are all based off of the technical levels of a company share price and its past price action. Naturally I combine all of the fundamental and macroeconomic knowledge that I have in every investment. But I'm mostly trade solely based off of technical analysis.
What will you research before investing?
Before making any investments, I like to research what the overall markets are doing in the US and globally. I look at everything from commodities, bonds, currencies, equities, and the overall general macroeconomic picture around the world. It seems like a lot to look over everyday but all of these variables are interdependent and they have an effect on each other. Whether or not the effect is substantial or insignificant these variables still affect each other. Once I get a good idea of the broader market outlook then it makes it easier for me to decide on an investment and an overall trend in the equity markets.
What are your key methods for investing?
My key methods for investing involve trend analysis and technical analysis. Most of my entries and exits in my investments are based off of technical supports and resistances, Technical price channels, candlestick formations and candlestick patterns, and just basically following the trend.
How was your first investment on moomoo?
My first trade on moo moo went very well. It's from a ticker symbol that I can't even find anymore. I bought shares of a company called support.com at around $13 and I sold them a few days later at around $19. It was a great trade. The one thing that I liked about Moomoo when I first found out about it was the fact that they provide tons of information to help with your investments. They even provide information that many other investment platforms charge large sums of money for. This is the best part about Moomoo in my opinion.
Why moomoo?
As I mentioned earlier, moomoo provides the most information to help with your investing as compared to other investment platforms. The Moomoo platform is super easy to use, very user friendly, and it has one of the best social media aspects to it that no other trading platform possesses. There have been several times where I have made profit off of somebody else's trade idea that I have found within the Moomoo app. There are some good traders on the Moomoo app and some of them genuinely try to help you make money. I think that's awesome.
Words for newcomers
For the new traders out there, there are a few sayings that you will hear on Wall Street that can help you in your investment journey. "Don't put all of your eggs in one basket." "Don't anticipate the market, participate in the market." "A trend is your friend until it ends." These are just a few of the old Wall Street proverbs and they sound very simple but following these simple mantras can take you a long way when navigating the stock market. The most important thing I can tell any new trader is to follow the trends. If the trend is upward then look for long positions. If the trend is downward look for short positions.

  • Birdistheword : I love the story. This is great. Okay I got a good one for ya. @SpyderCall how do you deal with your losses or trades that turned out badly? What advice would you give new traders who aren’t used to dealing with this or who have become frustrated?

  • PaAg1378 : Hi there, i like to ask if a stock is fundamentally strong but low in volume and significant trends, how do u get your entry in? Am i rite to say this stock will just likely b for long term put position to hold on to and trading activities will most likely be for meme stocks that stirs huge volume of tradings? Otherwise, trading will be not profitable enough as a full time profession correct?  And trading to me means using larger capital to bet for smaller gains. Appreciate your insights 😊🙏
