Mike Hunt OP Mr Trecherous : If you don’t short stocks (I rarely do) it’s important to know how to buy puts because making money on stocks falling is where half the money is. Calls are less important because simply being long on a stock also makes money on stocks rising. But puts are the important options to buy if you don’t short stocks
