Graphex Technologies provides the latest information reflecting the milestones achieved in 2022 and the goals for the remaining year. Graphex Technologies' business expansion in the USA, specifically in the core automotive industry in Warren, Michigan, is a key moment in global transportation history. The recently enacted 2022 Inflation Reduction Act demonstrates this, aiming to provide maximum investment for addressing climate change. As the demand for electric vehicles and other sustainable energy solutions is predicted to grow, the demand for key minerals required for manufacturing the lithium-ion batteries that power them will also increase. Equally important, there is a strong drive in the industry to shift the supply chain from geopolitically sensitive or logistically challenging regions to localized end-to-end processing and production capabilities in the USA, the highest such intensity in decades.Graphex is currently one of the top suppliers of specialized spherical graphite for the electric vehicle and wind power industries, with a global expansion strategy fully supporting the global energy transition and electrification efforts. Recent milestones and actions in achieving our business objectives include: Graphex being one of the largest professional graphite processors in the world, increasing annual production from 10,000 tons to 40,000 tons to meet the growing demand for electric vehicles; diversifying upstream raw material procurement for stable supply chains, actively negotiating absorption agreements with natural graphite sources distant from politically sensitive and/or logistically volatile regions;Exploring new sources of raw materials worldwide, including the USA, Brazil, Canada, Africa, Australia, Europe, and other locations, through a combination of direct extraction agreements and partnerships with mining industry, and operating midstream processing facilities near the raw material sources. Constructing a midstream processing plant in North America: the previously announced joint venture with Jade Energy Solutions LLC to build a new 15,000 metric ton graphite processing facility in Warren, Michigan, is progressing as planned. The Warren facility is the first of its kind to be built by an experienced commercial-scale midstream graphite processor in the USA and the first of several facilities expected by Graphex, projected to be operational in Q2/Q3 2023. Actively negotiating supply agreements to sell products to Western battery manufacturers: Graphex has signed at least one non-binding confidential memorandum of understanding with OEM EV battery manufacturers to supply anode materials for future facilities, including in the USA, and is evaluating the construction of processing facilities near OEM large-scale factories co-located with them. Graphex is in similar ongoing discussions with other original equipment manufacturers and battery manufacturers. Continuing research in advanced battery chemistry and materials science: collaborating with research institutes to delve into electrode materials for graphene-based sodium-ion batteries.
