Shopee: Singaporean take advantage of 9.9 sale to prepare travel essentials for year-end holidays

Singapore shoppers have started preparing their travel essentials for the year-end holidays with the 9.9 Sale (a promotion on September 9), says e-commerce platform, Shopee.

Shopee is one of the most popular shopping platforms in Southeast Asia. Its 9.9 sale is called "9.9 Super Shopping Day". According to Shopee, Singaporean consumers bought four times more supermarket items than usual on Shopee that day.

Shopee pointed out that travel essentials such as masks, luggage and to water bottles and power banks (portable chargers or rechargeable batteries) are among the most searched items by consumers on Shopee.

Shopee revealed that one shopper bought more than $11,000 of baby formula, supplements and household cleaning products on the day. And Pupsik SG, a vendor selling toys, children and baby products, was one of the busiest retailers on the day.
