Just say NO to selling the dip
Why, oh why, would I sell the dip if my company’s fundamentals are still good? If I liked the company before the dip, I most certainly would not be selling in a dip, especially when the entire market is down and the external negative catalysts exist that make it make sense. We may not like it, but we can understand WHY it happens. On the contrary to selling the dip, I would be buying and DCA into it. Buying the rip is not nearly as bad because if you are using DCA, you are not dumping all of your money into the company at that high price. The ONLY time I would sell the dip is to take advantage of tax harvesting which in and of itself is a good strategy for the retail investor to learn as it helps to offset gains.
