Taiwan stocks close lower for fourth straight week: Tourism stocks soar intra-day, Shan Fu Travel rises more than 9%.

Semiconductor stocks were down in general, with the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index falling 1.62% overnight. TSMC fell 0.94%, UMC fell 1.11% and wireless communication chip company MediaTek fell 2.68%.

Among them, TSMC sources on Thursday suggested that because production capacity can not keep up with demand, car companies should first establish a buffer stock of automotive chips.

Tourism stocks rose, with Shan Fu Travel up 9.67% and Phoenix Travel up 4.06%. Internet rumors have it that Taiwan will implement the "residence-free interval 0+7" on October 10, relaxing travelers' entry restrictions and lifting the tour restriction. However, Taiwan's regional epidemic prevention department said that everything is still under study and the relevant schedule has not yet been determined.
