Tesla removes radar from entire vehicle to save costs: starts in October
Recently, Tesla officially announced that the ultrasonic radar sensor will be removed from the Model 3 and Model Y delivered in Europe, North America and the Middle East from October onwards, followed by the removal of the ultrasonic radar sensor from the Model 3 and Model Y one after another around the world.
According to MunroLive cost analysis, Tesla can save around $800 per car by removing the ultrasonic sensor. If you have already ordered the car and have not paid the final payment, you should hurry up, otherwise the car mentioned later is likely to be already the version with the ultrasonic radar removed. With the removal of the radar, Tesla's assisted driving and parking functions will all rely on the camera.
