Sega revealed the "Sonic Frontier" wrapped Audi R8 car at the "Nationwide Entertainment Festival" and it will be available for sale after the exhibition.
On October 19th, Sega, a game maker, held a completion announcement event for the special wrapped car "Audi R8 Coupe V10 performance 5.2 FSI quattro S tronic to collaborate with SONIC FRONTIERS" at Audi Yokohama Aoba, an official Audi dealer, to promote the new action-adventure game "Sonic Frontier".
Sonic Frontia is a PlayStation 5/PlayStation 4/Xbox Series X|S/Xbox One/Nintendo Switch/PC compatible game scheduled for release on November 8. The protagonist, Sonic the Hedgehog, runs around the vast Starfall Islands at his own supersonic speed and challenges the mysteries of this world guided by a mysterious voice, creating a new frontier action adventure.
In order to allow players to experience this game before its release, Sega will exhibit a trial booth for Sonic Frontia at the entertainment event, the "5th Nationwide Entertainment Festival," held at Kakamigahara Citizen Park in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture from October 22nd to 23rd. An Audi R8-based wrapping car will also be displayed.
The wrapping car was created by "Hitotsuyama Racing," which has been participating in various races with Audi vehicles for many years. Initially, the project was planned for an exhibition vehicle, but the completed wrapping car had such a high level of finish that it was decided to be sold as it is after the exhibition for PR activities.
As it is soon after the decision to sell, the details have not been finalized yet, but the base is a certified used car originally used as a test-drive vehicle. Acceptance of purchase applications will be conducted until the end of December, and the price is expected to be in the 30 million yen range, which is close to the new car price (31.38 million yen). Detailed information will be announced on the "Audi Approved Automobile Hiyoshi" website after November, and inquiries will be accepted.
In addition, after the exhibition at the Entertainment Festival, the wrapping car will be exhibited at locations such as Sega's headquarters, Osaki Garden Tower, Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba, and Audi Yokohama Aoba.
