TeslaSmurf : The new platform requires new factories designed with that special purpose. They may start building by the end of 2023 in 2 or 3 different locations and they will be ramping up production in 2025 but it won’t be as cheap as you may think. I think they will produce the robotaxi first and a van (in 2 lengths out of the same platform) and it won’t affect margins because it will cost half to produce it with a single casting. Then you will have to add FSD for the taxis or a special fee to use it as a taxi with the Tesla taxi app. I don’t think it will be sold as a private car out of China for a period and the revenue on those cars will be huge (>40% margin).
