The heavily-weighted banks provided much of the day's momentum. $Westpac Banking Corp (WBC.AU)$ rebounded 2.03 per cent following a poorly-received trading update yesterday. $Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBAPK.AU)$ gained 1.36 per cent, $National Australia Bank Ltd (NAB.AU)$ 0.69 per cent and $ANZ Group Holdings Ltd (ANZ.AU)$ 0.29 per cent.
