Micron Technology, Inc. $Micron Technology (MU.US)$ and Rambus Inc. $Rambus (RMBS.US)$ are both involved in the manufacture of memory chips. Micron actually makes and sells the complete chip modules (as shown in the above picture) while Rambus manufactures components and licenses IP (Intellectual Property) that are used in the modules themselves. In fact, Micron is one of RMBS's biggest customers.
