01:20 AM EST, 11/11/2022 (MT Newswires) -- Sunpower Group's (SGX:5GD) profit attributable to equity holders plummeted 94.9% to 10.4 million yuan ($1.5 million) in the third quarter, from 202.5 million yuan a year earlier.
Earnings per share dropped to 0.0131 yuan from 0.2553 yuan per share during the period, according to a late Thursday bourse disclosure.
An increase in foreign exchange loss due to the appreciation of the US dollar and a decrease in fair value gain on convertible bonds were cited as reasons for the drop in earnings.
Revenue for the three months ended Sept. 30 rose 11% year over year to 868.6 million yuan from 782.5 million yuan, mainly due to an increase in stream sales volume and the rise in sales price of industrial steam.
The company did not declare any dividend for the reporting period.
Sunpower Group is engaged in the development and manufacturing of energy saving and environmental protection products and the provision of solutions. Its shares climbed more than 16% in recent trade.
