Grab's Q3 FY22 Earnings Conference Call is to be hosted onNovember 16 ET,before the U.S. markets open! The consensus estimate for revenue is expected at$349.14 million, indicating a nearly 122.38% YoY growth. The EPS is estimated atminus $0.103for this quarter.
Grab, long considered as one of the rising stars of Southeast Asia, started on the ride-hailing business and competed effectively against Uber. The company later expanded into adjacent businesses, including food delivery and finance. Now it even adds from hotel bookings, health services to entertainment experiences. The superapp contains more dreams but also leads to extensive losses. Specifically, Grab lost $3.4 billion last year and has piled up approximately $1 billion of losses in H1 2022.
Trying to reassure shareholders, Grab revealed on its first investor day that it has almost $6 billion of cash and liquid items, giving it space to turn on-demand and fintech services around. It also expects losses to narrow to $380 million on an adjusted basis in H2 2022. The company backed by SoftBank said it anticipates Grab group to be breaking even in the second half of 2024 on an adjusted EBITDA base under management's profitability improvement measures.
Earnings growth will be in focus when the global economic backdrop has been rocky this year. The upcoming earnings results might offer more information and create more trading opportunities!
