q3 earnings
1. I'm most satisfied with (PSNY) polestar's earnings. They have been able to scale rapidly and are really knocking it out. I think of them as amazing long-term but like I always say, you have to have multiple plans and take it day by day
2. Now doesn't seem like a good time for the semiconductor (chip) industry in my opinion as retail sales are still declining and given that it's current Christmas season I can't imagine when sales will start picking back up. Maybe cars may hold the industry up.
I would pick any company individually regardless of it's industry. I'm not bullish on e.v. in the short term, in the longer term it's unpredictable. long term I know polestar will be fine because they are owned by Volvo. Nio seems to be expanding nicely. I think consumer staples are probably appropriate for the current environment (food mostly).
3. Currently I feel like the market is at a temporary support and seems to be trending slightly upwards. Everything can change daily. the next event to change it will be the fed rate hikes on December 13th-14th. if it comes in lower than .75% of an increase it would be bullish for the market. if not its hard to say I don't think that alone would cause the market to decline. I do believe early next year (possibly early February there will be another decline as there is still a recession) and I'm not sure if it'll be short lived. I think it could be a short recession and halfway through the year we may rally (only if it's a 1 year recession, because I heard the market recovers before the end of a recession)
