First of all, I am grateful that we have transitioned to a post pandemic era and that my loved ones are safe (or have recovered) from COVID-19. 2020-21 have been a challenging period globally with many people grappling with the lock-down restrictions, challenging business/job environments, and loss of family/friends for some of the unfortunate ones. As we are now protected with vaccines and COVID-19 evolving to be a less potent variant, we can finally resume life as normal (with much lesser restriction)!
2022 has been extremely difficult for investors as most stocks have plunged over 20% from their highs and plagued with high volatility due to fears of a looming recession. Any signs of positive news often lead to be bear market rally and those who FOMO often found themselves in the bull trap. I am no exception on 1-2 instances where I deviated from my usual technical analysis in fear of missing out on a reversal or rally, only to see the stocks move at least 5-10% lower in the bearish trend.
However, I was not overly concerned since the strength of a company’s fundamentals was one of my key considerations prior to any trade. This bearish market did serve as a strong reminder to me to stick to my analysis, be it fundamental or technical.
I hope my fellow Moomoo friends will continue to forge ahead in this market and look for the next opportunities instead of dwelling on your setbacks! Remember, do not FOMO, manage your risk and diversify your portfolio. ![]()
