Singapore requires drivers to receive pension, supported by Grab and Gojek
The Ministry of Manpower of Singapore determined that the platform exercising significant management control over workers must provide some basic protection, including provident fund contributions and industrial injury compensation from 2024.
Under the provident fund measures, platform employees and platform companies such as Grab, Gojek, Foodpanda and Deliveroo need to make contributions at the same level as their employees. It is expected that the increase of provident fund contributions will be gradual within five years, unless major economic turbulence takes longer.

Grab spokesman said, "We will take these considerations as guidance to ensure that the impact on our partners' income and consumer prices is minimal."
Gojek said that they also "support" the review, and said that the recommendations would build on the existing driver benefit plan.
