Some people hold that the stock market is azero-sum game. One side wins, and the other side loses by the same amount. Despite all investors being in the same market and playing the same game, the feelings would be completely different from each other.
@Assama Mohammad:$Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ.US)$Big Banks say show me the money!!!! powell baby. Never seen such a swing reversal in talking points dating back to the Jackson Hole speech. This has nothing to do with actual earnings at this point. It is all about what a Federal Reserve official might say. Market is hooked on on words. It will last till it last. Then reality will take hold.
矜重的比尔 : Zero out policy, be careful with China Securities
Ah keong : Buy high sell low, dry AMC
103047546 : FTX has gone bankrupt, and two more have gone bankrupt, going back to zero
Syuee : No. Investing is not a zero-sum game.
As long as your investment creates some sort of value, then your investment is “ positive sum ”.
Both the investor and the invested, do gain more value. This is the norm with investing.
In the event, if the investment loses value, then it is actually “ negative sum ”.
Speculation is zero-sum game, but investing is not.
The difference is that a speculator tries to make money by outsmarting others in the stock-market.
While an investor becomes part of the owner of a business or a group of businesses, if they invest in an index.
Whether it be stocks, time, money or heart … , please invest wisely !
