High-running emotions with any stock or company can quickly lead an investor astray.
@HopeAlways
We cannot turn off our emotions or even ignore them completely. We can take steps to limit the number of emotionally driven decisions we make with any stock.
We should be well aware that a stock is just an inanimate object and it cannot love us back
@Syuee
Emotional investing can lead one to hold onto stocks for far too long, without booking profits progressively for reinvestment. When opportunity hits, it is important to rebalance our portfolio, without bias.

I can't help myself I'm human.
@MooMamaLlamaDrama
The more I research a particular stock or industry, the more I often lean on one way more than the other. If I like it, that's when I buy it or wait to see what the movement is like/to get a good entry point) If I don't like it, I won't dismiss it completely, but I will definitely not focus on it, with time or financially.
We need to be aware of the psychology behind investments.
@Southern Eagle
If you get emotionally tied to a stock, you tend to let your emotions dictate when to sell. And you risk being emotionally involved with companies that have been doing well as you ride them too long.
Being emotional makes people less realistic about the asset's value.
@cola1010
Being emotionally invested in the company's stock can lead to a lack of portfolio diversification, over-concentration on specific stocks, and holding the asset for longer than necessary.

Being emotionally tied to a stock means that you love a stock.
@bullrider_21
A stock is just a sheet of paper indicating part ownership in a company. You buy and sell stock to make profit, not hold it forever. A stock goes from being over-pessimistic to being over-optimistic and vice versa. Buy and sell accordingly.
I believe in investment by conviction.
@ZnWC
If I love the fundamentals of a particular company, such as the governance, and the company's motto and moat, I'll hold on to the stock for as long as I can. The reason may not necessarily be about its price.
I conduct due diligence studies to ensure that my stock investing is intellectually rational and relevant.
@12moon
I hold on to stocks only for the following reasons:
1. The stocks continued to enjoy strong growth prospects and are resilient in times of economic downturn.
2.The stocks continued to display favorable characteristics in compounding returns at attractive rates viz a steady stream of good dividends and good capital growth potential over time.
