What type of degree is best if you want to become a stock trader?
There is no particular degree that you need to be a RETAIL Trader of stocks.
You DO need an education that includes Relational Technical Analysis, some Fundamental Analysis in terms of using fundamental line indicators in charts, how to read stock charts, and Risk Analysis. You need to learn how to have a Trade Management Planner, rules and parameters of trading, IRS rules for Trading as a Business IF you are a US citizen so that you can write off all your trading expenses including the cost of your trading course.
You need to learn how to be a neutral emotional trader who uses rules and parameters for trade decisions rather than getting emotional during a trade.
You need to learn your personal risk tolerance and how to apply that to your trading.
You need to learn the Professional Side of the market which controls over 80% of all the market activity every single day.
All of this training is not available on the internet and rarely taught. Those I train are not just retail traders but also professionals of the market, stock brokers, prop desk professionals and those who want to learn the skill and art of trading stocks as a career.
