Obviously NFA and make up your own mind. I’m only talking about the reverse split here, not any other issues or proposals.
My rationale:
1.Will not cost AMC holders anything in any way as long as your count is divisible by 10; even if it’s not, I assume you get cashed out for the “remainder.”
2.I have to think that any changes to the share count, as this will accomplish, require compensatory actions by short sellers and other issuers of arcane derivatives, tokenized shares, etc. The more complicated we make their life, the more chaos they have to deal with, the more they have to plaster cracks in their leaking dam, the more levels we put on their house of cards.
3.AA implied they’re shorting the stock to penny-stock values. This reverse split confounds their plans.
I think:
1.APE caused them problems.
2.FTX imploding caused them problems.
Reverse split will cause them problems.
Maybe those problems are someone leaning on DTC or whoever to just fudge it again. If true, I’m happy to let them keep digging. I’m willing these shares to my toddler’s kids, who won’t even be born before 2050, before I sell.
$AMC Preferred Equity Unit (APE.US)$ $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$I think this is AA harassing his enemy. I’m in.
Doug Saddler : At a 10:1 ratio, now a 10 cent drop becomes a dollar drop pre-split.
Having dealt with reverse splits in the past, your brokerage will sell off any shares that aren't divisible by 10. You won't get a fractional. Hedgies love this simple trick.
calm Leopard_8925 : who says it won't cause AMC holders anything? our shares worth less almost 20% since the news and probably lesser come the day of the vote. we AMC holders will be voting hard no on this bs.
71791308 : We can be shorted from a higher position. Yes on congestion though
