The tricky thing with AI vehicles is that who becomes ultimately liable for an accident.
The ceo of the company? The stock holders? How much extra premium would it add to insurance? Do insurance providers want to take this risk now?
AI vehicles would work really well, if no other humans were on the roads, because AI largely cannot predict the irrationalty of human behaviours. Humans, so far have been able to trick AI and computers into believing something certain, that is not.
AI would work well in a closed system. Like a monorail or small railway.

  • Deep Sea : Self driving software is worth a lot of money if anyone can develop it. Tesla is more than just auto company. It is a tech company too. It is different from GM and Toyota.
