Nvidia's Q4 FY23 Earnings Conference Call is to be hosted on February 22 ET, after the U.S. markets close! The consensus estimate for revenue is expected at $6.02 billion, indicating a nearly 21.2% year-on-year (YoY) decrease. The EPS is estimated at $0.47 for this quarter, which suggests a fall of 60.2% YoY.

NVDA had been in free fall, with over 50% market cap lost last year. Macroeconomic uncertainties, high inflation, and the slowdown in the crypto market, are main challenges facing the company. In posting the second consecutive miss in Q3, Nvidia also cited COVID lockdowns in China. Headwinds may have abated more recently, but investors shall still watch the slowdown in falling PC sales.

However, Nvidia's business may bounce back when external conditions are improved in the long term. Besides, the company's innovative computing solutions have become more relevant recently, against the soft need in general computing. According to Nividia, it expects Data Center sales to benefit over the long haul from artificial intelligence applications, which require much more processing power. Wall Street also expects AI demand to temper its customers' spending slowdown in the near term.

Nvidia shares surged over 40% in 2023, recouping about half of the value it lost last year. In 2022, the stock was down 13% compared with a 10% drop for the S&P 500 Information Technology Sector Index.
