Occidental Petroleum - Is this Warren Buffet stock a buy?

Ever since then, coupled with relatively strong oil prices, OXY has been in the news headlines. It just released its results not long ago, so here are some points to take note of.

Free cash flow generation for Q4'22 was lower mainly due to capital spending of USD 1.5 billion.

Share repurchases hit a total of USD 3 billion in the final FY 2022.

In terms of production, oil & gas production hit 1,227 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (mboed), around an increase of 4% versus Q3'22.

Lower oil, natural gas, and domestic gas in Q4'22, pulling down the net income and also the cash flow generability.

Even though there were copious amounts of share buybacks, which reduces the average shares outstanding from 922 million to 906 million from Q3 to Q4, it was still unable to buffer the lesser income of Q4'22.
