Zequalizer Dream Weaver : When the bank is shut down the equity is a zero. The securities won’t trade while under FDIC receivership, but when they do the stock goes to 0 and you can close out the position. It will take some time to settle, could be months. Keep records of your trade details and save trade confirmations.

Dream Weaver : thanks. May be its not worth the while to take the risk on such stocks, as not likely when its shut we'll  still be earning interest til stocks "re-opened" when the authorities r done with bankruptcy settlement.
