$S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$ added 0.18 per cent on Tuesday for seven straight days of gains and swung around 30 points higher from the red to black after the Reserve Bank held rates.
Coal and gold miners climbed as prices of the commodities rose, while iron ore and lithium miners retreated on price softness.
The best performer on the day was $Whitehaven Coal Ltd (WHC.AU)$ up 5.7 per cent on the back of OPEC+'s plan to cut oil production.
Elsewhere, $Suncorp Group Ltd (SUN.AU)$ lost 0.7 per cent after the ACCC said it's not certain to approve its bank's takeover by $ANZ Group Holdings Ltd (ANZ.AU)$.
