Because Tesla released its earnings report after the market on the 19th of this month, the stock price fell to avoid the risk of poor earnings reports. If the financial report was good, it would rise back; otherwise, it would continue to fall

“the stock price fell to avoid the risk of poor earnings reports”? Pardon my ignorance, wouldn’t falling price confirm poor earnings.

don't you think u are being a bit mean to "growing"? this kind of sarcasm is a bit uncalled for. he or she already gave the qualifier "pardon my ignorance".

Generally, mediocre earnings plus high anticipation in conference call, the share price reverse and shoot high; good earnings (beats expectations) plus high anticipation, share price would rise parabolically.

Precisely the point. Current great news isn’t going to lift the stock market upwards. Financial reports and performances are the things the investors are looking at this month, not forecasted. This is although the overall market is still conditioned with too much optimism.

The market is already pricing a possible poor earnings: that’s the most logical explanation of these days’ pullback. BUT (logical too, as they can’t anticipate the data) there may be a non-counted decrease in cost production and some more consistent take from the past FSD profits. In any case, I think the report will explain how much the new engineering of the lines (200 technicians from GigaShanghai are temporarily working in that at Fremont and, I suppose, at Austin) will allow to save, or increase in terms of production capacity. Consider that the same guys got a 60% capacity increase in the Chinese factory… Hope they can get +30% at least in California.

Thanks, Pinkblack! I’m a newbie trying to learn about investment. I’ve asked questions in the past and the Moomoo community has been kind. Perhaps it’s my choice of words… I’ll be more careful next time.

My initial understanding of your phrase was: the price first dropped and with this, poor earnings report could be avoided. Cause and effect. Fine, it’s my illogical thinking then. Just trying to learn.

Peter Zhang Always Growing : who confirmed? you? how did you confirm it before Tesla reported its earnings?
