$Tesla (TSLA.US)$just released theirMaster Plan Part 3 reportand teased that their new Compact EV will comewith a LFP battery with a 53 kWh pack size. They expect the annual vehicle sales to reach 42 million, almost double of the 24 million of the best-selling Model 3 and Model Y.
The 53kWh battery pack should give it about 250 miles (or 400 km) of range. In comparison, the original ~$65,000 Tesla Roadster had a 53kWh battery and 230 miles of range, while the ~$33,000 Renault Zoe also had a similar 52kWh battery with 245 miles of range.
The $25,000 compact EV, often referred to as the “Tesla Model 2”, has been always in the discussion since Elon Musk’s announcement back in the Tesla Battery Day in 2020. While there are no official designs released from Tesla, yet, Tesla has already been taking in design submissionssince June 2020.
There is also mention of a Bus EV with a 300 kWh - but no further information was shared on this segment.
