Byte's EBITDA exceeds Ali and Tencent, already China’s largest online advertiser
Last year, ByteDance’s EBITDA rose 79% year-on-year to about $25 billion. That would surpass Tencent's $23.9 billion and Alibaba's $24.5 billion, making Byte the most profitable internet company in China.
Byte is already the largest online advertiser in China, leaving Alibaba and Tencent behind in terms of scale and growth trend. Last year, ByteDance’s overall revenue was between 555 billion and 570 billion yuan, of which advertising revenue in China was about 330 billion yuan (double-digit growth), and Douyin was the biggest growth point for ByteDance. The advertising revenue generated by Douyin e-commerce (mainly live broadcast sales) has exceeded 120 billion yuan.

bananarama : ebita is rubbish metric. show me the cash flow
Tencent4Life : soon wechat channel will beat douyin
Carter West OP bananarama : Byte's financial data is non-public, but ebitda can be used as an approximation of cash flow from operating activities, except it doesn't factor in interest or taxes
Carter West OP Tencent4Life : It is indeed very competitive, but I don't think it can beat Douyin's barriers in a short time
