To get paid, whistleblowers must provide information that leads to an SEC enforcement case of more than $1mn. Whistleblowers can be paid between 10 per cent and 30 per cent of the total of the fines collected.
The SEC has said it has paid out more than $1bn since the start of the programme in 2011.
“The size of today’s award — the highest in our programme’s history — not only incentivises whistleblowers to come forward with accurate information about potential securities law violations, but also reflects the tremendous success of our whistleblower programme,” said Gurbir Grewal, head of the SEC’s enforcement division.

Hey _God_ and his "Following"! Believe me now?
Gilley : the sec did something wtf noway I'm still 100 percent sure they help to screw over the little guy in the stock market otherwise they would create systems that do the opposite in the stock market like halting to stop volatility but it creates mass volatility. also they change your orders or allow it to happen on the premise of you got into that position to cheap which is bogus asf cause they change it to s short position from a regular buy sell position making it so now instead of making 100s of percent u get stuck with a short position at the lowest you could have bought it at then you don't get the shares for days allowing the short to get crushed wiping out your account. they helped the hedge funds tank gamestop they should investigate themselves cause they are crooks
XRPMan : Some how I doubt that award! SEC lies too often!
RVLTN : Lovely NARC program
