AU Evening Wrap: ASX Closes 0.2% Lower; Financials Stocks Bounce Back

The $S&P/ASX 200 (.XJO.AU)$ fell 0.2 per cent, or by 12.4 points to 7264.1 at market close, weighed down by real estate stocks.

The REIT's sector was the worst performing sector. $Charter Hall Group (CHC.AU)$ shares fell 4.2 per cent. $Scentre Group (SCG.AU)$ dropped 2.1 per cent. $Stockland Corp Ltd (SGP.AU)$ shares decreased 3.1 per cent.

Financials stocks started the session in the end but have now bounced back. $CommBank (CBA.AU)$ shares rose 0.2 per cent after it reported a boost in its cash profit in a third-quarter trading update. $Westpac Banking Corp (WBC.AU)$ shares were up 0.1 per cent. $National Australia Bank Ltd (NAB.AU)$ added 1 per cent. $ANZ Group Holdings Ltd (ANZ.AU)$ increased 0.7 per cent.

Gold miners were among the worst performing stocks. It comes as $Silver Lake Resources Ltd (SLR.AU)$ shares tumbled 5.5 per cent. $Capricorn Metals Ltd (CMM.AU)$ fell 5.5 per cent. $Perseus Mining Ltd (PRU.AU)$ decreased 3.6 per cent.

Meanwhile, healthcare company $Imugene Ltd (IMU.AU)$ shares surged 8.7 per cent and was the best performing stock.
