Do you buy while your stocks are on an upswing?

Hello, I am pretty new to investing into anything besides some basic index funds. I finally decided to take a risk and I chose a stock I really believe will do great in the long run.
Since I started buying last year, it has been almost totally flat. In the past week it’s gone up 25% and I held off on buying it over and over because I thought it would tumble back down again. But boy do I wish I bought, because it keeps creeping higher and higher every day.

What’s your strategy when a stock you’re long on goes on a pretty rapid upswing? $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$

  • 102083870 : TLDR answer - I DCA my investment stocks.

IMHO, based on my experience.  The second question I would ask myself is, am I trading or investing in this stock. the 1st question I never asked was, do I really understand the difference between trading and investing? Yes, the questions are not in the correct order, but that's how I used to think.  Now that I have educated myself and my goals are defined I DCA all my investment stocks.
