Seizing the opportunities that arise in the market

It seems the Q1 2023 earnings season has come to a close. As a novice investor, with an overwhelming amount of information flooding in, it can be quite daunting to navigate the volatile market and make informed decisions during the earnings season. Thankfully, I came to the moomoo community and met you guys-a group of kind and experienced investors who have shared so many invaluable insights. Big thanks to all the investors here!
Let me briefly summarize some of the fascinating views that have inspired me.
What to follow during the earnings season
With tons of information available every day, how do we identify and act on what matters most? According to @RJBoy, paying attention to the earnings reports of giant companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Meta can indicate the performance of smaller companies and the trend of the market. In addition, @Wee Loon Ng points out that a good earnings report does not always translate into a rise in price. Therefore, it's essential to analyze relevant information thoroughly when making investment decisions.

How to cope with volatility
One of the most significant characteristics of the market is volatility, which can lead to fear and missed opportunities. So how do we appropriately face market volatility? @Rizzu advises us to stay well-informed and stick to our investment strategy to overcome any hurdles posed by market volatility during earnings season. Besides, @RJBoy suggests that trading during high volatility periods can yield maximum gains in a relatively shorter period of time. Moreover, @Don_Obet76 encourages us to be bold and seize opportunities when others are scared during times of volatility. As @Chomel rightly pointed out, it's crucial not to oppose the opportunity when the market presents itself.
Adopt the right strategy
@Echophi suggests we should avoid cognitive biases such as availability bias, confirmation bias, and overconfidence bias when making investment decisions. Meanwhile, @Jemar Quiro shares a comprehensive trading plan that encompasses not only entry points, take profit and stop-loss, but also the timing and volume of trades.
I can not express enough gratitude to every investor who has offered their generous insights and wisdom. I have learned tremendously from this discussion!
