Malaysia stock market
Following the trend of the US stock market, the Malaysia FTSE conglomerates index closed down 7.14 points at 1402.48 points in thin trading.
The Malaysian ringgit continues to hit new lows against the US dollar and the Singapore dollar, affecting investor confidence, causing them to stay on the sidelines and resulting in a full-day trade volume of only 2.3 billion shares.
Blue chip stocks mostly declined, with plantation and glove stocks giving back gains from the previous few trading days, creating a very dull trading atmosphere.
