According to a recent investor survey analysis by S-RM, Singapore has become one of the most popular investment destinations in the Asia-Pacific region. The survey shows that more than a quarter (27%) of the businesses surveyed believe that Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia, offers the greatest opportunity for investment or expansion in the next five years. However, there are concerns among investors about Singapore's aging population, with one in six residents now aged 65 and over. These risk factors should be factored into the long-term planning of businesses.
ZnWC : 5 reasons I'd invest in Singapore:
1. Political stability and consistent in government policy to promote business
2. Judicial system is fair and low in corruption
3. Regulated and healthy financial hub
4. Relatively friendly to foreign investors
5. Strong SGD and economy
3 risks of investing in Singapore:
1. Small local market and export driven economy
2. Economy sensitive to external impact
3. US-China tension
Based on the above, Singapore is still a good place to invest. My favorite stocks are those linked to AI. But don't expect stocks to grow ten-folds in few years like those in US.
Moomoo SG OP ZnWC :
Liew Yee Tat : hope every year give new high.
杰曼 : Good: Slow and steady, suits well for value investor if you can find a gem in SG pool of stocks.
Bad: Lack of excitement and market breadth, not preferred by risk takers who pursue for high growth companies.
rawrrrbucks : The good: stocks are very tightly regulated. It’s difficult for the market to be manipulated. If you can find a gem that moves higher and higher over a period of a few years that pays good dividends then that’s pretty epic.
The bad: the market tends to move quite slowly. Perhaps it’s a lack of volume.
EYSY : Singapore is a good investment destination in the APAC region given its political stability and government incentives. However, Singapore lacks of resources as a country, be it land, natural resources or manpower. Perhaps, the stocks that are good in Singapore are bank stocks or reits for its stability and dividends. Other stocks lack volatility and volume.
