Oxy used to pay a much higher dividend, pre 2020 (.78/.79 per share - see a 5 yr chart), and then with the acquisition they made they became debt heavy. That along with the pandemic, caused them to cut it back. Warren is likely influencing the current aggressive debt payments hastening the return to much higher payouts. Warren plays a long game.
