Manchester United - Qatari bound?
Manchester United's share price has been volatile ever since it was allegedly opened up for sale by the current owners - The Glazers.
The saga of Manchester United changing ownership has been one of the longest-running takeover news ever since news surfaced a few months ago.
Now that the saga is allegedly coming to an end, what entail to current shareholders or potential advantage takers?
1. Qatari Group led by Sheikh Jassim is allegedly the new owner of Manchester United Football Club
There are plenty of rumors that the sale is all but done, and pending official announcement.
This was what is pushing the stock price.
Last Friday, a consortium led by Sheikh Jassim put in their "take it or leave it bid" to the Glazers, rumored to be in excess of USD 5 billion.
This is around a 25% premium to what Manchester United is currently worth
2. So if the news is true, we can get in for a quick profit?
Unfortunately, there are plenty of bidders for Manchester United. Sheikh Jassim's offer is the best among all as it will not saddle the club with debt, one issue which has plagued the club ever since the Glazers took over Man Utd years ago.
INEOS under Sir Jim Ratcliffe is some of the other notable buyers that could end up as successful bidders. But the market is pricing in too positively for Sheikh Jassim to be the eventual owner.
