DrBingo : well with semi, I personally think it's not so much abt the valuation, it's abt the timing cuz semi industry is cylical and the boom cycle just started like 6 months ago.
Once the up cycle starts, u throw a dart at any semi company, most likely gonna make money. The stocks will move before the numbers show up in reports, once numbers show up, everything normalises and u will see a lower valuation. But once there are signs that the semi cycle is going down, u need to sell it just like ppl should sell semi at the start of 2022 to avoid a more than 30 percent drawdown
ISTJ OP DrBingo : Agreed, can’t judge a chip company based on PE merely, but when you compare its earning and product line with its peer competitors, Nvidia’s PE is only 220+, it’s not so convincing to me that AMD worth such high valuation. And yet, there’s nothing big coming for AMD except for the news that Amazon is considering switching to AMD for its data center.
