Shares of Apple are trading at a new all-time high today. The high price reached $186.52 which took out the high price from June 6 at $184.95. That high from June 6, took out the January 2022 high price at $181.35. The low price from Apple in 2023 was on the 1st trading day of the year at $123.8.
As a significant player in the tech industry, Apple's product launches always garner attention. In January 2022, Apple's shares reached a new record high of $182, which was impressive. However, the unveiling of the Vision Pro, Apple's latest technological wonder, pushed the shares up even more to an all-time high of $186, a noteworthy milestone.
Investing requires a precise balance of timing, strategy, and patience. Despite Apple's temporary plateau in share prices, there is ample evidence that this tech giant's innovation and market appeal may cause its stock to climb even higher. So, monitoring its progress is well worth the effort.
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ shares fell by 0.35%, closing at $255.90. Its options trading volume is 2.36 million. Call contracts account for 61.1% of the whole trading volume. The latest boost follows announcements by GM and Ford that owners of their EVs will be able to use Tesla's fast-charging Supercharger network. The company's fast-charging standard is becoming the predominant standard in the U.S., boosting Tesla's stock and opening up new revenue streams for the electric-vehicle maker.
Tesla is a momentum stock, and as such, "positive news flow often has this type of effect on the stock price," said CFRA analyst Garrett Nelson.
$Microsoft (MSFT.US)$ shares climbed 3.19%, closing at $348.10. Its options trading volume is 0.88 million. Call contracts account for 63.9% of the whole trading volume. Microsoft stock is trading higher Thursday, with at least two analysts boosting their price target. Mizuho analyst Gregg Moskowitz maintains Microsoft with a Buy and raises the price target from $340 to $360. Moskowitz remains encouraged by MSFT's ongoing cybersecurity innovation; more broadly, we believe the company is ready to capitalize on Generative AI.
Jonathan Neilson, General Manager and CFO of Security, believes MSFT articulated a well-rounded cybersecurity platform well positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for security technologies. Neilson also said that MSFT's multi-cloud security capabilities are largely underappreciated and noted that the company had worked hard in this area.
Unusual Stock Options Activity
Some notable call activity is being seen in $Las Vegas Sands (LVS.US)$ which is primarily being driven by activity on the July 21st 67.5 call. Volume on this contract is 33,750 versus open interest of 570, so it's likely that nearly all of the volume represents fresh positioning. Shares of NVDA were down 1.96%.
