TESLA’s FSD 🚗
$Tesla (TSLA.US)$ People and analysts (who are well payed to analyse, but they don’t do it properly) still don’t understand what a DIFFERENT beast Tesla’s FSD is.
While ALL the other systems are softwares needing a geofence (a mapped area to move within) and many (expensive) sensors just to “mechanically” avoid the possible obstacles in that mapped area (lots of storaged data and computing power needed), Tesla’s FSD is basically an AI driving your car wherever you want. On Mars too 😂, because it understands the environment through pure vision. Exactly as humans do, but with all the light spectrum that humans can’t use, (as infrared for the temperature of the obstacles or microwaves to see through the fog) and decides which is the best option to safely get to the required location.
Of course it is web connected, so it always knows where it is (we humans sometimes don’t) and has the “experience” of ALL the driving data coming from the 4 million Tesla cars out there which are CONSTANTLY sending techinical data to Tesla’s central computers. The system constantly LEARNS how to drive better and sends back the driving improvements to ALL the cars with SFD each time Tesla releases (on the air updates) a new Beta FSD version, which is happening almost every couple of months now.
FSD LEARNS and, as Elon said recently, the full autonomous driving system program should be completed THIS year.
No one else has such a powerful tool, no one else has a REAL driving AI and no one else will have it… FOR YEARS as they haven’t even started such a project because the ICE car companies are not software /Ai companies, what TESLA, in fact IS. Nor they have 4 million EVs sending back DATA…
