Tesla beats BYD in BEV Quarterly Global Sales again in Q1 2023
BYD used PHEV to push sales figures up. Study shows that PHEV is not considered as EV because most owners run their car by gasoline than electric power out of distant anxiety. This is because most PHEV are installed with cheaper and short range battery. Tesla on the other hand produces only BEV.
Quote:
In the first quarter of the year, BYD sold 547,917 passenger NEVs, up 92.81 percent year-on-year, including 264,647 battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and 283,270 plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs).
Tesla's vehicles were all BEVs, delivering 422,875 units in the first quarter, up 36.39 percent year-on-year.

geda : TSLA has now reached a critical tipping point. If it rises again this week, reaching 268, it will break through, and have great prospects.
