Tesla's NACS Charging Connector Has Become Nearly the Industry Standard, Creating a Deeper Moat
Following the announcement that both $Ford Motor (F.US)$ and $General Motors (GM.US)$ will adopt $Tesla (TSLA.US)$'s NACS connector in future electric vehicles in North America, Tesla's Supercharger network has won another convert, electric-vehicle star-tup $Rivian Automotive (RIVN.US)$.
Tesla's NACS connector is also gaining support from several other companies, primarily charging station manufacturers and operators.

"Not only will it help make the transition to electric vehicles more seamless for our customers, but it could help move the industry toward a single North American Charging Standard," Mary Barra, the chief executive officer of GM said when announced they will partner with Tesla on charging.
Tesla's Superchargers, which now cover much of North America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. At the end of the first quarter, the company had nearly 5,000 charger stations and more than 45,000 charging connectorsglobally, according to company filings.

Adam Jonas and his team at Morgan Stanley believes that long term, Tesla could produce and store its own solar electricity to power its Superchargers and Tesla's charging business could be worth more than $100 billion.
