Buzzing Stocks List & Mooers Comments
Last week the S&P 500 closed on 0.8%, pulling back further from last week when it reached its highest level in more than a year. The Dow and the Nasdaq composite also fell. Stock markets abroad also fell after a preliminary report indicated Europe’s economy appears to be weaker than expected. The disappointing data added to this week’s hesitance in markets following more increases in interest rates by central banks around the world. Treasury yields sank as investors sought safer places for their money. (As of Jun 23, 2023)

dwarrior : But first has to go 220?
Kopikarp : The Fed's decision to pause its consecutive rate hikes will potentially soften the US dollar's strength. The dollar has previously remained robust, due in part to the Fed's persistent rate hikes. The pause, however, is likely to trigger a currency shift as investors explore other currencies with higher interest rates.
First, while this pause is a major shift in the US, other central banks, like the European Central Bank, might continue to hike rates, while the Bank of Japan and the People's Bank of China may maintain their current position, making their currencies more attractive over time.
Second, the pause is likely to promote the strength of emerging market currencies against the dollar, as investors might redirect their funds from the US to these markets that offer higher interest rates.
Combining the effects, the Fed's decision to pause its rate hikes is likely to weaken the dollar, and the dollar's strength could face a potential downward adjustment.

Milk The Cow :
Milk The Cow : Welp, I guess the usd should be appreciating. I think it's very unusual that it's de-appreciating when interest rate is all time high .
However, for the past few weeks / month, usd had crashed to all time low... to my surprise +... (Guess is something about crypto & fed something something...)
