2023 Half -Year Recap: Why I choose Moomoo?
I take long position for my stocks and occasionally trade options if the conditions are favorable. I used Fundamental Analysis (FA) to determine an effective portfolio and Technical Analysis (TA) to justify the price trends. There are no best strategy hence a combination of FA and TA seems to work for me. Hence having a suitable brokerage is very important to me - Moomoo provides several good features that meet my requirements:
1. Heat Map and Stock Screener
Heat Map a good start to check which industries are resilient to inflation and FED rate hike or affected by a particular incident. Stock Screener helps me to diversify my portfolio based on regions and industry.
2. TA indicators and Theta
I used several indicators like Bollinger Bands, Moving Average (MA) and Volume (VOL) to determine price trend which is vital to my options trading. Beside TA indicators, Theta and Options calculator help me to determine expiration date and strike price based on my risk level.
3. News and Moomoo Learn
Moomoo will update the news related to a particular stock on a daily basis. It'll save me time to search. The Learn feature also help to explain financial terms which can be confusing at times.
4. Chat Groups and Friends
I benefit most in Chat Group that I joined like #Learn Premium Group and #Option Learning SG where I received summary of events happened the night before. The group has helpful admin like @Moomoo TA Cici and @Eric Options Mastery to answer our queries. The chat group are unlike those that I seen or experience elsewhere. I also met friends here whom I'm inspired by their stories just to name a few: @Syuee , @doctorpot1 and @MooMamaLlama
5. Industry Chain, Paperfolio and Papertrade
I learn how to use Industrial Chain to research on stocks from a different approach. I used Paperfolio and Papertrade to test the effectiveness of my strategies - Buy Low Sell High (BLSH) and Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA).
Bottom line
Moomoo trading platform is an important part of my investment journey. They're just so many good things (Singlish called 'Lobangs') about the app that I don't wish to switch to other. But having said the above, I need to caution that Moomoo is not the cheapest in term of fee. Whether the price is worth paying depends on your needs. Please make a comparison before you decide to use Moomoo.
