Can someone explain to me like I’m 5 why the national debt is or isn’t a major concern for the economy and the stock market?
I see this climbing and climbing and my thoughts are that this will come to a head sooner or later but what can happen? There seems to be no real attempt to control spending or really do anything about it, it seems like the plan is to just ignore it and hope it goes away on its own somehow.
I really hope to avoid a political discussion as both parties have contributed and I’m honestly more interested in the math. At what point do we have to get serious about this, do we even have to get serious about it. To me it seems to be getting out of control. Is this a legitimate reason to get out of the market or to reduce positions in equities? $AMC Entertainment (AMC.US)$ $S&P 500 Index (.SPX.US)$ $Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC.US)$

李白的李 : National debt is never a debt for industrialized countries as long as they are still producing products or providing services the world wants the debt is not debt
