XPeng Q2 2023 Delivery 23,205 vehicles down 32.59% YoY
Based on South China Morning Post, XPeng forecasted it would deliver between 31,000 and 34,000 EVs and beat Tesla. Not only XPeng unable to meet the target today (Q2 2023 delivery 23,205 vehicles) , it couldn't beat Tesla Q2 2023 global sales 466,140 vehicles.
The reason XPeng continues to claim it can beat Tesla is because they used monthly delivery to compare with Tesla China monthly sales. This is not a realistic comparison because Tesla China contributed only about 38% of Tesla global sales - the majority sales comes from US and Europe. Even Tesla China export vehicles are also not considered as delivery in China. XPeng delivery largely is from China.
