BURSA's IPO performance in the first half of the year
The above chart shows 15 companies newly listed in the BURSA IPO in the first half of 2023. Sancy did not appear on the Leap Market because of this. The increase of more than 100% in listing this year was mainly focused on EMS electronic assembly and technology-related stocks. Although the increase in WELLS was astonishing, there was a huge gap between its profit performance and stock price.
The author reviewed the increase on the first day of the IPO in 2021. In fact, the increase was not as exaggerated as in the past year and a half. Last year, the first-day increase began to break 100%, and this year's OPPSTAR even experienced the crazy phenomenon of an increase of over 300% in a single day. Even the best stocks need to be bought at a reasonable price; buying too high represents countless risks. Many stocks that had exaggerated first-day gains in the first half of this year dropped quite a few days after their IPO.
For example, AUTOCOUNT ADB once rose more than 200% on the first day, from 33 points to 1.16 points at the IPO price. After the low tide a while ago, the stock price once fell to 58 points, recovering 50% from a record high. If you win an IPO, it depends on a small amount of luck and most of your banknote ability. Everyone knows that the larger the bid amount, the greater the chance of an IPO in China.
Summarizing the characteristics of popular IPOs, the IPO price is between 20 and 50 points, mainly from incremental innovation industries such as technology, EMS, software, etc. On the other hand, traditional fields such as industry and furniture are not sought after by investors, and recent examples of IPOs are obvious to all. Not every IPO is worth it; you need to have a deep understanding of the business prospects and management's ability to execute.
