Deep Sea Azzvia : The bamk stocks drop is due to the rate hike cycle reaching its peak and coming to an end soon with terminal rate at tentative 5.6% as indicated by US FED. The current FED rate is at 5%.
REITS drop is due to rise in interest rates where their borrowings are high and they will have to pay higher interest expenses when they refinance their debt when due. This will lead to lower profits from all REITS which are impacted by high interest rates and as a result, the REITS will have to reduce their dividend payout.
