Last Friday, Wall Street drifted to a mixed finish after data suggested the U.S. job market is still warm enough to keep the economy growing but maybe not so hot that it stokes inflation much higher. U.S. employers added 209,000 jobs last month, a slowdown from May’s hiring of 306,000. The S&P 500 lost 0.3% to 4,398.95, though slightly more stocks within the index rose than fell. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gave up 0.6% to 33,734.88, and the Nasdaq composite edged 0.1% lower, to 13,660.72. (As of July 7, 2023)
CasualInvestor :
CasualInvestor : I strongly believe to invest in companies that I agree with their long term business goals. Thus EV such as $Tesla (TSLA.US)$, Gadgets such as $Apple (AAPL.US)$ (not so certain on the vision goggles ) are stocks I will invest in.
Just seems too high for me now. Thinking of waiting out especially after the looming Fed rate announcement end July.
Short swings on stocks for the short term but I’m definitely feeling bearish for the long term.
Mcsnacks H Tupack : Top chip stock for the July is $Intchains Group (ICG.US)$. Can get in at the lowest of all investors at 5.81. Just needs news and volume
kitword : too many uncertainty eg war,
geneviL : Compared to investing between electric cars and chips, I tend to invest more in electric cars. The difference between the two is that chip companies have a strong government shadow, and government policy intervention will directly affect the prospects of chip companies. However, electric cars will be more open, and cars and car companies will kill each other. Company executives will also fight for survival. It is only under such circumstances that the true value of the company can be revealed.
Milk The Cow :
Milk The Cow : I don't think I'll invest in EV temperory for now .
Economy is quite uncertainty with high interest rate even though data show US strong economy for now...
Also, I EV stock does not look cheap to me ...
If got cheap then buy lor . But, nope to me for now.
depent CasualInvestor : Tsla's position now has a bit of an opportunity, but they need to put in a good stop loss
CasualInvestor depent : Agree stop loss is important.
Moojobrew : my answer is Yes to being optimistic of the stock market. I couldn't figure out how to answer it at the post.
