People HATE PayPal & For Good Reason!

$PayPal (PYPL.US)$ The proof is in the pudding as they say. Constant decline of individual accounts because of more and more fees and restrictions.
Like they said, their "branded checkout" will keep them afloat, but only because retailers eat the fees. Individual customers have so many free options for getting paid now, venmo, zelle, etc., why on earth would they use PayPal?
It's really a sad story about two once great companies, eBay and PayPal, dying for good reason. It's a perfect example of how to ruin a business for short-term quarterly gains.
You can't even sell your own damn 5 year old used PC without getting a 1099 from them and paying 100 dollars for the privilege between the tag team double doe pounding of eBay and PayPal fees.
Let's start an IRS garage sale division. We gotta make sure the piddly 600 bucks you got for 6k of items originally 5 years+ ago that you already paid taxes on is taxed again.
There are too many free and simple payment services available to individuals, Zelle, Venmo, etc.
DIE PAYPAL & EBAY! Blame that C*** Meg Whitman. I hope she gets eaten by a hippo in Kenya.

  • impulsebuyer : Paypal owns venmo

  • Chow Jun Wen : Pls do some homework at least my dear, Venmo is part of PayPal, unless you’re talking just about it as a product alone

  • Benzodiazepine OP impulsebuyer : Now I know why banks use Zelle and venmo use has declined.

  • Benzodiazepine OP Chow Jun Wen : It and zelle are the two most prominent free payment services that came to mind, but you're right, I didn't know. However, I dont think it makes a difference for them revenue wise. Small potatoes in the big picture.

I stopped dealing with and paying much attention to either company after the eBay and PayPal acquisition and constant fee hikes.

  • Chow Jun Wen Benzodiazepine OP : I do agree with you partly, but unsure if you could understand your writing standpoint. You’ve been saying PayPal is doing so bad while Venmo and Zelle is doing great, and now you’re saying something differently. It’s alright tho as you can write anything as you wish, just my two cents to remind you so ppl don’t look you stupid. Happy investing!

  • Benzodiazepine OP Chow Jun Wen : I think there is a language barrier causing confusion. My only point in mentioning Zelle and Venmo was that they were free to use, so why would you pay PayPal a fee+commission.

There is only ONE, and it's not very good, buyer protection on peer to peer sales. However, all the scammer needs to do is mail you the correct weight of dog poop with a tracking number.
