  • JonSnow : Nice, give me some of your power

  • Salmon Klein : yes bro give me some of your power knowledge wtf I am almost investing for a year now and I am in the negative

  • 10baggerbamm OP Salmon Klein : buy great companies buy companies that are generating a lot of cash buy companies with little to no debt. investing is a lifetime it's not something that's done in a day so you don't need to Chase what somebody else tells you has to be bought right this very second.

  • Salmon Klein 10baggerbamm OP : that's just the thing, huge cash, no debt? thanks.  one question: I recently bought Sophify at 69 because it has tons of cash... and a few days later, plunged 30%, what'sypur opinion on that company? is it a lifetime long investment in your opinion? do you invest in penny stocks, too?

  • Salmon Klein 10baggerbamm OP : thanks for your reply btw

  • 10baggerbamm OP Salmon Klein : sofa?

  • Salmon Klein 10baggerbamm OP : $Shopify (SHOP.US)$

  • 10baggerbamm OP : so shopifies problem is their forward guidance it was a disappointment. the question I would have for you is why did you invest in the company did you invest because somebody gave you a tip and it didn't work out did you invest because you wanted to gamble on earnings and having the stock pop or did you invest in it because you like what they do you like their Market they're in you like the future for growth so those are the first questions I would ask. I would discount Cathy Woods buying more, she's made a lot of bad selections in her investments and consequently she continuously averages down and she doesn't know large amount of volume so it tends to draw attention that Kathy Woods bought 18 million shares she probably owns it at a much higher price also so to me that's a non-event.. if you pull a long-term chart it doesn't look great even without the earnings forward projection guidance demise it's been an underperformer for some time.. so what does that mean I mean best case scenario for you to recover you're probably looking at 6 to 9 months under an ideal situation meaning the market as a whole cooperates meaning that next quarter is more favorable because the guidance from Wall Street has come down and they begin to turn the corner so I don't know how many shares you bought but this is where you have to evaluate why you bought it how long you plan on holding it. if you have round lots of 100 shares 200 300 400 500 then you can begin selling covered calls to collect a premium to lower your cost basis but I don't know how many shares you have

  • Salmon Klein 10baggerbamm OP : thanks. I bought it because the company is generating cash, and I guess it's growing. indeed, this quarter grew 23% with respect to last year. I got in before earnings thinking was going to keep increasing and the price, 69 was the lowest in few months. I thought it was a good opportunity. I was planning to hold for minimally a year? I am a small investor with little experience, so I just bought 20 shares. I am not familiar with puts and call yet
